What are the requirements of Student Visa (Subclass 500)
There are several criteria you must meet before you qualify for a student visa. In support of your student visa application, you will need to:
- Enroll with an approved Australian Education Provider as a full-time student
- Provide confirmation of enrolment (CoE) for all intended courses from your education provider
- Show that you have sufficient funds to cover your tuition fees, travel expenses and living costs
- Prove that you are a ‘Genuine Temporary Entrant’, which means you need to provide a statement stating that you intend to stay in Australia temporarily and documentation to support your claim
- Have adequate health insurance covering entire duration of your stay in Australia
- Meet English language requirements unless exempt
- Meet Australian health and character requirements

Future Prospects
After completion of your studies, you may be eligible for a Temporary Graduate visa (Subclass 485) which allows eligible applicants to temporarily live and work in Australia after completion of studies in Australia.
